Working out of his Modern Recording studio in Chapel Hill, N.C., the dB’s cofounder and onetime Alex Chilton collaborator revisits classics by the Beatles, the Kinks, Sly and The Family Stone, the Left Banke and others, also throwing in a few of his own songs.
