After following up her alienated alt-rock debut with the darker, more existential If You Asked for a Picture, Blondshell (singer and songwriter Sabrina Teitelbaum) headed to the studio for the third straight time with producer Yves Rothman (Kim Gordon, Cherry Glazerr). The resulting Violins — so titled to capture the coexistence of violence and beauty in the world, its overarching theme — is her most ruminative set of songs yet.
