The Warm Up Tour was the name given to Peter Gabriel’s run of live dates in June, July and August 2007. In advance of the tour, Peter said:
“When I decided to get a band together it was for the 25th anniversary of our WOMAD festival on the last weekend of July. I then decided to do some other dates around it but don’t have a new album to play yet. So, I thought I would ask the fans through the full moon club on my website to put in requests for songs that I had not been playing recently. It is that list that you sent in that has determined what you are now about to hear. Some of these have not been played for many years and we are intending to brush off the rust.” – pg

In television, his most famous score is The Mandalorian. But Sinners is a different beast, as the film is about music, with some vampires thrown in; the vampires are attracted to the music, which “pierces the veil between life and death.” If Sammie (newcomer Miles Caton) were not so good at playing guitar, it’s possible no one would have died.

On August 1, 1987, Tangerine Dream performed a landmark open-air concert in front of the Reichstag in Berlin, celebrating the city’s 750th anniversary. Held at the Platz der Republik and drawing over 100,000 attendees, the event unfolded near the Berlin Wall – a powerful symbol of Germany’s division at the time. The band’s signature electronic sound, paired with stunning visuals and fireworks, made for an unforgettable experience. It’s even said that the music could be heard across the border in East Berlin.
VA – Jazz Dispensary Presents: Dream a Dream with Studio G: Cratedigger’s Archive (1970-2009) (2025)
Established by John Gale in London in 1966, Studio G produced a wide range of genres and styles, geared toward local TV, sports programming and adverts. As Ryan Jebavy, producer of Dream a Dream, explains in his liner notes, it unleashed “pastoral folk, maniacal horror, funk-spat jazz, quixotic pop, alluring electro and the usual novelty side spells of national anthems, children’s music and whatever other utilitarian cues society demanded of the moment” upon the commercial space. Even as more sizable outfits such as KPM, Bruton, De Wolfe and Chappell consumed the majority of the marketplace, Studio G offered a truly fetching alternative-sleek, hip art not previously seen on mostly unremarkable album covers released by neighboring companies…

Widely acclaimed British band The Levellers are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their chart hit album Zeitgeist. The Zeitgeist 30th Anniversary Collection will be released in November 2025 via Warner Music and is available as a 2LP and 3CD.
The aptly titled album ‘Zeitgeist’ cemented the Levellers’ position at the top of the UK music scene in 1995. Following their headline appearance at Glastonbury Festival that summer, ‘Zeitgeist’ stormed to the top of the charts upon its release in August, beating off competition from Blur and The Charlatans to become the sound of the summer alongside Supergrass, Oasis and Pulp.

Life in Slow Motion is an appropriate name for David Gray’s sixth album, since this languid, deliberate album crawls out of the speakers at a speed that suggests everything is stuck in molasses. Not that this is a bad place for Gray to be, or that it is even a big change of pace for him. As the years passed, he’s trimmed away the faster tempos from his music, leaving behind an even-keeled, meditative, soft reflective folk-pop that brought him a hit in 2000 with “Babylon” from his fourth album, White Ladder.
