On Parole Sessions celebrates the 1975-1976 recording sessions for what was originally intended to be the band’s debut studio album, On Parole. Because their record label shelved the project at the time, it was not commercially released until 1979. It stands as the only studio album to feature Motörhead’s original lineup: Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister (bass/vocals), Larry Wallis (guitar), and Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor alongside Lucas Fox (drums).
The 50th-anniversary release is organized across a 4-disc set (3 CDs and 1 Blu-ray) containing completely overhauled and unreleased material:
CD1: The Studio Album (Steven Wilson Remix): A brand-new stereo remix of the core 9-track album handled by acclaimed producer Steven Wilson. It uncovers clarity and depth while maintaining the gritty attitude of the original tracking.
CD2 & CD3: Extensive Session Outtakes: Compiled and mixed by Richard Digby Smith, these discs feature a deep dive into the vault with instrumental jams, alternative takes, early demo versions, and raw studio dialogue.
