Turnover have made a habit of shedding their skin with each new record. The Virginia Beach outfit, led by brothers Austin and Casey Getz, came up in an early-2010s emo and pop-punk scene that had long abandoned the mathematics of its Midwest enclave and the theatrics of its biggest stars. Their debut Magnolia basically refused any classification beyond “alternative rock,” a sound hardly built to last.
